All the rage these days is grass fed beef. The problem with Florida grass is it just doesn’t have the protein and mineral content of the northern states. At Joy Farms, we pasture raise all our steers on well managed forage, but we supplement with high protein Alfalfa hay in winter, so our steers thrive even when the pastures are not. We also lightly supplement our steers’ diet with all natural grain (containing no urea or other harmful additives) in order to produce the highest nutritional value and the best taste and marbling possible.
